Eleanor and Scott Hucker, Great Lakes Staple Seeds
Great Lakes Staple Seeds is a homestead seed company that prides itself on offering a diverse selection of staple crop seeds to meet your plant-based nutritional and functional goals. Each and every seed is regionally adapted, savable, all-natural, untreated, and grown with love on our southeast Michigan homestead. In addition to her seed work, Eleanor is a full-time stay-at-home mom to a rowdy (and sometimes naughty) flock of free-range poultry that includes geese, turkeys, chickens, and ducks. As a child, Scott was a champion 4-H gardener. When he’s not heading up the grains department for Great Lakes Staple Seeds, he’s the technical engineering specialist for the manufacturing of crankshafts for General Motors.
