Smooth and soften your skin in the shower before using this DIY shaving cream for legs and face. This recipe is for homemade shaving cream without shea butter and instead uses olive oil.
People with facial hair should always shower before they shave, because the steam will soften their facial hair and make the process smoother and more comfortable. Moisturizing hair is the most important thing a shaving cream does. The addition of olive oil to this recipe creates a rich cream, especially for that purpose. People who shave their legs may also enjoy this recipe. Yield: 8 ounces.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
Directions
- In a double boiler on the stovetop, heat the oil with the stearic acid powder until a clear liquid forms.
- Mix together the hot water, borax, and soap, and stir until the borax and soap are completely dissolved. Pour this solution into a blender, and blend it well for about 1 minute.
- Slowly pour the melted stearic acid mixture into the soap solution in the blender, and blend on high until a smooth cream forms. Pour it into a clean container and allow to cool completely.
